This week, Baby Beavers is the size of a fig (a little over an inch and a half long).
He/She is growing fast - and I can certainly tell! At the end of last week, I woke up for my typical trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night and had a hard time getting comfortable again when I got back in bed. I was having some minor pain and cramping. Being pregnant for the first time, I was nervous, so I called the doctor's office and spoke with the nurse. She called it the "stretching period," and confirmed that all was fine. Just making room for baby in there. This continued through the weekend, but has since stopped.
I also caved and bought some maternity jeans this weekend, since mine no longer button (and if they do, it's only comfortable for about 1/10th of a second). I must say, they're not gorgeous, but MAN are they comfy. I don't know why on earth we torture ourselves with regular jeans. These things are little blessings in disguise. Also, thanks to VieVie (my mom), I have a pair of maternity work slacks, a new shirt and a sweater. And another "thanks" to Renee Karras, who let me borrow her maternity clothes. Come January - May, I will be set!
Symptoms: Still nauseated, though its becoming more tolerable. Maybe I'm just used to it, or maybe its on its way out the door. But hey, it could be worse. I could be getting physically sick, which only happens on occasion. I'm pretty emotional, for better or worse. I'm very teary (commercial, song, laundry - you name it), which is not entirely unlike me...I am a sensitive sap, after all. But now, its just kind of laughable - and laughter does usually follow the tears.
Sleep: Still in love with it. Wish I was doing it now.
Weight gain: None yet
Cravings: Nothing really in particular this week. My sweet mother-in-law did cook dinner for us over the weekend, though, and as always, her food hit the spot!
