38 weeks

Madeline weighs about 7 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek).

This week has brought on more minor contractions and LOTS more pressure.  Swelling hasn't been as bad, but my hips and back are still very achy. In general, I've hit that "uncomfortable" stage.  After my weekly visit to the doctor, I'm STILL 1 cm. dilated and 80% effaced. The doctor said that she thinks I'll stay this way until I go into labor.  BUT, Madeline has moved down even further over the past week and is at 0 birth station now (in other words...Madeline's head is in my pelvis...which explains the intense pressure).  All we need now are contractions to get my body progressing even further.  Regardless of the discomfort, Derek and I are stepping it up...we've started our walking routine again.  Right after work, we hit the pavement.  A little encouragement never hurt anybody, so we're encouraging our daughter to continue progressing. Not sure that M loves all of this, as she likes to push down hard on her mama during the activity.  She must really like her warm womb.  I have loved this journey, but I'm ready.  It's time to meet her!

We're continuing to "nest" around the house.  Everything is dusted, bathrooms are clean and ready for Vie and Papa.  We put together the Pack & Play this week and rearranged some things to make room for all things baby throughout the house.  Whew!

We got the go-ahead from Dr. Bonpain, so we headed down to Wrightsville Beach last Friday morning to celebrate the marriage of Kenneth and Kristen!  It was such a fun weekend and the wedding was beautiful.  Congratulations, Aunt Kristen and Uncle Kenneth!  We love you!

9 more days until due date....will she make it?!
