26 weeks

Our little Valentine is about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches.  I'm looking forward to the week ahead because 1.) I get my glucose test over with and 2.) we are doing a 3D/4D ultrasound of Baby M.  We can't wait to see her little face and see how much she has grown.  It's one thing to read about her size and development each week, it's another to see it.

Happy Valentine's Day from Madeline

We went to the pediatrician's office tonight for an orientation to meet the doctors and see the facility.  Madeline will be in good hands, we have no doubt.  We were really happy with what we saw and heard.  Another check off the list! :)

Madeline's furniture came in over the weekend, too!  We couldn't be more pleased. We have the dresser and crib all set up, now we're just waiting on the glider and ottoman, which should be in later this week.  I will post more pictures of the "final product" once everything is up and ready.

I'm still feeling pretty good these days.  "Walking for two," as my father-in-law calls it, is becoming interesting.  Walking reminds me that my hips are starting to expand a little.  I'm still steady with the weight gain (fluctuating between 13 and 14 lbs. total), and though I wouldn't say I'm craving anything in particular (craving meaning can't live without it), I do really, really like certain foods.  Every morning, I wake up beyond thrilled to have a big bowl of Cheerios with a banana. I  could seriously eat this for days and days.  I still have a pretty large sweet tooth, but what's really getting me is my interest in spicy stuff.  I'm diggin' HOT wings, mexican food (surprise), and Derek and I are both indulging in green olives stuffed with jalapenos.  It just tastes soooo good and I'm taking advantage of it since it's not giving me heart burn...yet.

Derek treated his girls to a special Valentine's surprise this week - he sent an Edible Arrangements bouquet to work so that baby girl and mom could snack on fruit (chocolate covered, at that) during the day and had roses waiting on me when I got home.  He spoils his girls so much.  He's going to be a wonderful dad.  And M thanks him from the bottom of her little beating heart for the fruit - she moved all over creation after a few pieces of pineapple chocolate covered apples and strawberries.

  1. Wow! What a difference just a couple of weeks has made! She's just a growin' away--a tribute to her mom's careful attention to diet and nurture! So proud of both you and Derek! I agree that he's going to be the best daddy ever!
