22 weeks

And we're in the 22nd week.  So far so good!  She's still moving and shaking and kicking and the belly is still growing with her.  With this growth, I am experiencing more of the round ligament pain.  This time in the form of sharp pain on my right side. Ugh.

Baby M seems to like spicy food, which is fine by me, because so do I.  Salsa, jalapenos, mexican food - she appears to be a fan.  Like mother, like daughter!  The weight gain has come to a lull, despite my enormous appetite, so I am at 9 lbs. total.  I'm sure as I get closer to the third trimester, it will jump into overdrive again.

Good sleep is hard to come by these days.  Getting comfy on my side(s) isn't as easy as it used to be.  I go to sleep on my left side (accompanied by a big ol' body pillow) and wake up with a throbbing hip, so I turn and prop my belly and legs up on the right side, only to have to switch sides again a couple of hours later.  But then, the next night, I could sleep very well.  It's so bizarre and somewhat difficult, but the bright side is that I am getting used to less and less sleep already!

On an exciting note, our crib bedding arrived this week and it's GORGEOUS!  I am so pleased with how it turned out. Now, if only the furniture would arrive, we'd be in business.  Here are some pictures -

AND our final bit of exciting news, we have finally found child care.  WHEW!  A huge check off our list of "to dos" before baby comes.  Madeline will stay with a wonderful woman in Cary, at her home.  Miss Benna loves the children she keeps (and they love her), comes highly recommended and has a strong focus on education and nutrition.  We feel really comfortable with this decision and are so grateful that she had an opening for us. We're just tying up some loose ends with scheduling, but we're on the right path.  Vievie and Papa have also volunteered to come on Mondays to watch the little one while we're at work.  SUCH a big help!
