Madeline enjoyed the anticipation of Santa - or "Santy" as Benjamin says - and unwrapping gifts (and keeping gifts a secret!) and Benjamin really got into the Christmas tree - and the ornaments - this year. What was even more precious to me, though, was that Madeline seemed to really understand the real meaning behind Christmas and was overjoyed to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Leading up to the holiday, we attended the Apex Christmas parade, visited Santa at the Pease's house, and Derek and I took Madeline to see The Nutcracker ballet (which she LOVED - she wants to "be in that play").
The season is so magical in the first place, but living it through the eyes of your children is priceless.
