Benjamin, 7 months

Happy 7 months, sweet boy!

Benjamin is sitting up by himself for the most part.  He still topples over occasionally, but does an excellent job with balance and as my father-in-law says, he likes his new “vertical world.”  Though he is perfecting his sitting, he is happiest if he’s standing or bouncing.  He loves to jump and lets you know very quickly that standing or sitting still is for the birds. He adores his doorway jumper and Exersaucer…but his new favorite is the walker that Mimi and Grandbuddy have at their house.  That boy can walk all over the place and squeals if he gets caught on the carpet or on a piece of furniture and he can’t “break free.”

Our happy baby boy laughs, smiles and squeals all the time.  He is really exercising his voice these days and his snuggles keep getting sweeter.  He literally reaches for you, wraps his arms around your neck, or touches your face with his hands and snuggles his head into you.  Swoon.

Benjamin is very curious about everything in his path.  He reaches for anything and everything that crosses his path, and if he is successful in grabbing it, will usually proceed to put it promptly into his mouth.  Poor guy – though we have very swollen gums and buckets of drool, no sign of teeth just yet.

He’s eating two meals a day, along with his bottles, which consists of oatmeal and a fruit for breakfast and oatmeal and a veggie late afternoon.  He’s still sleeping from 7 pm - 6/6:30 am…and by 7 pm bedtime, I mean 7 pm SHARP!  He gets restless very quickly and some exhausted crying comes shortly after that.  He’s hard to settle when he’s over-tired, but if you can hit 7 or really close to it, he’s super easy to put to bed.  He’s still not much of a napper – consistently at least – but I’ll take the night time sleep over day time sleep any day of the week.

Can't wait to see what he does in the next month!
