Madeline-isms

Our 2 year old (going on 12 year old) is a hoot.  Some of the things that have been coming out of her mouth lately have had us cackling.  Here are a couple of new ones -

  • Stinkly (this translates to "Slinky" which she got for Christmas)
  • Blanklet (or blanket)
  • I can't get to the beach without my car (as she drives around the house in her "car")
  • Christ-mah lights
  • Sclay (sleigh)
  • Sclaw (slaw)

Sadly, our funny toddler is dealing with croup right now.  I think the worst is over, now it's becoming a typical cold. Needless to say, we have her home again today as a "just in case."  Vie took her to the doctor yesterday and Dr. Bowman said that this would pass with some steam breathing treatments and a humidifier at night.  Poor thing - and poor daddy.  The last two nights have been sleepless (as opposed to what, right?) as Miss Madeline struggled to sleep and get good, deep breaths.  Meanwhile in the other room, mom was on Benjamin duty.  Raising kids isn't for wimps.  We're doing everything in our power to keep the two kiddos separated right now, which is so much harder than one would think.  Sigh.
