Where did the past month go?! Between adjusting to having two kids and the busy Christmas season, before we could blink, our boy is 1 month old!
Benjamin is starting his own little schedule - or as much of a schedule an infant can have. He is mostly awake in the morning hours before lunch with a cat nap here and there, and takes a 2 hour nap (give or take) after lunch time. He is awake into the evening - pure entertainment from his sister at that time - and goes down around 9:30. He will sleep until about 2 and then he's up again around 6. Not too shabby, sweet man!
He is an alert little guy and loves to explore the world around him, taking everything in. He's still breast feeding well and we are slowly introducing the bottle and formula, which he is doing well with so far. He's growing like a weed. I can visibly see and feel his growth. He's getting so heavy! He is our sensitive little guy, though. We're using Enfamil Gentlease formula and have to use the Pampers sensitive wipes because other brands make his skin red, red, red!
Benjamin is such a laid back baby and loves - I mean LOVES - to snuggle and be held. You won't hear complaints from this mama! He's happy most of the time, too; laughing and smiling in his sleep and cooing and making sweet eye contact with you when he's awake. Our happy strong boy is also rocking tummy time (for a few minutes, at least, and then all hell breaks loose!) and can already roll from side to side.
We're been lovingly calling him "ManBearPig" - yes, this is a character from South Park, but ours is much cuter. He got this nickname because he looks like a little man, grunts and growls like a bear (SO vocal) and eats like a pig. Seems fitting!
We feel blessed beyond measure to be parents to this little blessing (and his precious big sister, too!). Can't wait to see what the next month holds.
