We have been running around like wild people over the past week, so I completely missed a 27 week post. SO, here we are in the third and final trimester. Week 28! We enter this new week with lots of pressure and the feeling of being bruised in my low abdomen. I guess Mister is growing and stretching in there. I'm sleeping pretty well still - I can make it until about 5 or 6 before I have to get up, which is great compared to how I was with Madeline (up every 2-3 hours). I do have sore hips and back, but clearly, it's tolerable. I'm still craving Stacy's pita chips and....sweets. Sigh. I was hoping to avoid the constant sweet tooth, but I have to have something sweet every single day. Milk is also top of my list these days!
I had my 28 week appointment last week. The dreaded glucose test. And the Rhogam shot (can I reiterate from pregnancy 1 - OUCH). Double whammy today...but Benjamin Mills is doing great! Strong heart beat, moving and shaking. I'm up 18 lbs. (seriously...this is where the sweets are coming into play) and measuring right on track. I go back at week 30 and go every 2 weeks after that. We will also schedule my c-section at that 30 week appointment. I can't believe how quickly time is passing now.
Miss Madeline is becoming a little bitty grown-up before our very eyes. Sleeping in her big girl bed like a champ, speaking like an adult and loving her baby brother already. She loves to pat my tummy and talk to the baby. She tells him she loves him, that she'll share her crib with him and when he catches me off guard with a jab, she scolds him. She says, "baby brother, no sir!" Can I love this child anymore than I already do?! She's so cool.
She's also starting to volunteer the "I love you's" and says "I love you, too." She likes to say her prayers at bedtime (she almost knows them by heart) and the blessing before meals. When Derek is lying down with her at bedtime, she enjoys smacking him in the face with her lovey and laughing. We get so tickled. She makes us laugh all the time. So full of life, that sweet girl.
