Big girl update

So, it happened.  Our baby doesn't want to be a baby anymore.

Last night at bed time, Madeline was refusing to get in her crib.  When we'd put her to bed, she would scream - shrill, sad screams.  When we went into her room to see what was wrong, she told us "I want to sleep in my big girl bed."  WHAT!?  Derek and I just started at each other - what do we do?!  She has been napping in the "big girl bed" but we hadn't planned on making the overnight transition at least until end of September.  Well, what else do you do but let her do it?  So, we put her in her big bed, and prepared for a sleepless night ahead.

She fell asleep quickly and slept soundly until 2 a.m. when she woke up looking for her paci in that big ol' bed.  Then she woke up a little nervous around 5 and went back to sleep until her regular 7 a.m.  SO, not terrible.  Mom and Dad are exhausted, but Madeline is so proud to have slept in her new room.  And to top it all off, she woke up with a dry diaper (she was also super proud of this!), so it could be we're now ready for the overnight part of training?  We'll get a few more dry nights before Mommy attempts that one I think..

Then, this morning on the way to Bozenna's, we got stopped at a light in Apex (the one where we turn to go to our church) and Madeline says, "go that way Mama" and pointed to the left.  I asked her why she wanted to go that way and she responded, "to church!"  Smarty pants.

And finally - on the beltline, we hit traffic (per usual) and Madeline says, "get over people!"  She clearly pays attention to EVERYTHING...it's a good thing Mama watches her language around the little one :)

So, yeah.  Sweet baby Madeline isn't such a baby anymore.  Time flies!  Sigh.
