21/22 Weeks

Sweet baby boy is growing up a storm.  I feel him move throughout the day consistently now.  Nighttime is still his party time, but it's nice to feel his kicks and stretches all throughout the day.  I'm still feeling pretty good for the most part and sleep is still decent (even with the 4 a.m. potty run every morning).  One experience that's new this pregnancy is hot flashes. Good gracious.  Totally manageable and a little bit hilarious when they hit.  Hey, beats nausea!

My only complaints are that our little guy is situating himself on my sciatic nerve every now and then so that makes days...interesting.  Luckily, I'm not having this discomfort all the time.  And, picking Madeline up is becoming harder and harder to do (which makes Mama really, really sad).

Still at the top of the cravings list are those delicious Whole Foods salads.  This week also brought on a desire for a Jersey Mike's sub and most times of the day, cereal sounds delicious (right now, it's Apple Cinnamon Cheerios...random).  My scale at home is saying I've gained about 10 lbs. total.  I go to the doctor next week so we'll see how accurate that is.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at DeBordieu with Papa and Vie last week.  We played hard on the beach, swam in the pool, shopped in Georgetown and ate, ate, ate.  Fun week!

And, an update on our sweet Madeline - who, even despite the occasional toddler tantrum - is a pleasure to be around.  We marvel at her every single day.  She's sensitive, she's kind, she's smart, she's so, so funny.  We just can't get enough of her.  What a blessing.
  • She is obsessed with "sticky" (this is lipstick)
  • She told me just the other morning, "Mama you look like a princess!" (she earned major gold stars for this one!)
  • "Look at that!  I look like a princess!"
  • She loves to dance and sing
    • Favorite song choice to dance to:  Shake Your Groove Thing (or as she says, "Shake your boo bang")
  • She loves Ring-Around-the-Rosey
  • She is really enjoying swimming - she puts on her Puddle Jumper and kicks those little legs and walks right into the pool on her own
  • She's counting to 20 in english, 10 in spanish and learning her ABCs
  • She adores her baby brother already.  She talks to him and pats my belly - she's going to be the best big sister.
