I've been taking some notes along the way, so to get caught up on how baby #2 and mama are doing -
April 10:
We got a positive pregnancy test this morning!
Starting weight: 110
Feeling: Bloated, gassy, tired
At the end of week 5, Derek and I suffered from food poisoning over a weekend...that following Monday, I was nauseated all day long. Could barely eat anything all day.
Week #6:
Still no sickness, but I am down 1 lb. from being sick last week. Exhausted! Have a small pooch (already?!).
Week#7:
Nauseated in the mornings (started end of week 6 - I spoke way too soon)...ravenously hungry all day long. Up 1 lb. total; craving hearty meals/food, and salty things like pretzels.
Week#8:
We had our first doctor's appointment and baby is measuring out just as he/she should. 1.54 cm., heart beat of 164. Mom got Zofran for nausea which is now throughout the day. Eating helps, but not for long.
Week #9:
Still nauseated, but I'm managing it okay. I've only had to take Zofran three times (before big client meetings). I'm still exhausted, which is part pregnancy, part chasing a 2 year old around! My bladder is already acting up and I have to go to the bathroom a lot and I'm showing a little more. My body seems to be saying "oh this again, let's do it!"
Week #10:
Nausea is not as terrible this week as it has been...please, let this be the light at the end of the tunnel! I started back with acupuncture to help with nausea and to hopefully boost my energy. I'm officially in maternity pants, or keeping my regular pants closed with a Belly Band. Sigh.
Weeks #11 and #12:
Nausea is getting better (thank you, sweet Lord). I'm no longer having to struggle through the day - except for being super sleepy. Bump is in full effect, but I've only gained 2 lbs. so far (this is a huge shocker because food is extra tasty to me right now). Still preferring heavier, hearty meals. On June 1, I had my 12 week appointment and everything looked/sounded great. Baby's heart beat is at 160. The doctor confirmed that the extra tugging and pulling pains I feel down low is due to scar tissue trying to stretch as I grow. I had a suspicion that this was the case, but it's always nice to get medical confirmation.
