15 months old, going on 15 years old. Madeline is SO. Much. Fun. She’s still talking up a storm, and dancing
around like it’s her job. Just last week
she was “fake crying” and I said “Madeline, seriously?” Her reply? A smile and “seriously” (imagine a little
attitude behind the word). She’ll try to
say just about anything you say in front of her/to her.
Her typical sleep schedule is still 8 pm – 7 am. She has recently dropped her morning nap
(already?!) so she only gets one really long nap in the afternoon. She’s growing up too fast for mommy.
Nothing new on her eating – still chowing down on everything
you put in front of her. I made a
calzone this week with spinach, artichoke, roasted peppers, Italian sausage and
cheeses and she inhaled it all. She is
really into avocados and eggs right now, too.
Her new favorite things are bunnies (she watches for them in
her yard, and in Bozenna’s), dancing to music (actually begs for music so that
she can twirl around), and Sarah. Sarah
is Bozenna’s daughter and Madeline adores her.
I think the feeling is mutual – Madeline sometimes come home with
braided hair, thanks to Sarah (Sarah also dubbed her Snow White when she was
juuuust a little baby).
We’re up to 12 teeth and 11 haircuts. Madeline rips bows out of her hair, so we are
now rocking a fabulous sprout on top of her head. She actually lets us do this, so sprout it is
until these wild bangs grow out!
Madeline has recently hit a separation anxiety phase. Not so much at Bozenna’s, but when someone
else holds her, she’s reaching for Derek or me.
When we take her to the nursery at church, she melts down. It breaks out hearts to hear her cry like she
does. She just seems frightened. So, we’ll continue to support her through
this little phase and watch for her cues.
She’ll grow out of it, no doubt.
Loving every second of this awesome age. She’s such a little pal and I can’t get enough
of her.
