10 months old! We've been affectionately calling Madeline "Mack" these past few weeks. A partial tribute to her middle name (McNeel), but primarily because she's like a Mack truck these days. Storming over barricades throughout the house, down this hall and then that one, BOOM, she falls backwards and hits the floor - but no worries, she's already back up and moving! Knocking stuff out of her way as she goes. She's "dancing" a little bit to her music, and is "walking" back and forth between mom and dad, too. And, our growing girl pulled up all by herself for the first time yesterday. Sloooow down!
Over the past month, Madeline has begun trying out words. She is actually looking at Derek and saying "da," looking at Deacon and saying "de," saying "baw" (this is meant to be "ball"), whispering "ot" (hot) when we pour our coffee...heavy emphasis on the "t." The only word she won't try is "mama." Sigh. She likes to wave "hi" and "bye-bye" to people and insists on holding the phone when it's on speaker and she recognizes a voice.
She's enjoying her sippy cup quite a bit these days and is more into solids these days. We cut up pieces of meat and veggies and she'll shovel them into her mouth. We're still eating "stage 3" organic Gerber foods, too, but slowly moving away from those - and formula! She has a small 4 oz. bottle in the morning and two 7 oz. bottles throughout the day. We successfully weened her off the bedtime bottle, so she'll go down with just her pacifier. I'm not going to lie...I will not miss buying formula or cleaning bottles after she turns one.
Her sleep has continued to be great. She's now doing about 7:45/8 pm to 7/7:30 am (unless we wake her up which is the case during the week).
We noticed tooth #7 yesterday. She likes these teeth of hers. She touches them, licks them, bites into food with them. She also likes to grind them which is like nails on a chalkboard for Derek and me. It's a dreadful sound, but she loves it!
On to the adventures of month 10. It's hard to believe in two short months she'll be a year old. Time truly does fly.
