Merry first Christmas

What a wonderful first Christmas for our special girl.  We kicked off the weekend with an early celebration with Mimi and Grandbuddy, where Miss Madeline opened her very first Christmas gifts, including a very special "big girl" necklace.  She liked what was in the boxes, but loved the wrapping paper.  She couldn't get enough of the crinkle.

We headed to Greensboro on Christmas Eve to spend the rest of the weekend with Vie and Papa. We enjoyed a Christmas Eve service at church and then headed home to wait for Santa.  Mom even caught a picture of the big guy putting out Madeline's presents!  It's dark - can you make it out?

Madeline woke up on Christmas morning to fun toys, a full stocking and more of the crinkly paper to tear up.  She even got a special rocking chair from Vie and Papa - the same one that Vie got for her first Christmas, and Mom got for hers.  Now it belongs to our precious baby.

We headed to Winston-Salem in the afternoon and enjoyed a delicious meal with the Sutton crew at Uncle Ben and Aunt Sally's house.  Madeline was a hit in her red "heels" and Santa dress.

It was an awesome first Christmas with Madeline.  It's true what they say - Christmas takes on a whole new level of incredible when experienced through a child's eyes. Merry Christmas!
