16 weeks...tiny little kicks!

This is my favorite week so far. I finally felt our little BB kick!  Last Friday night we were settled in, watching a movie.  I was sprawled out on the couch as usual (I'm surprised I haven't left an imprint by now) when out of nowhere, I felt a little "thump.." and then a minute later, "thump." At first, I will admit, I thought it could be a gas bubble, or one of those other lovely symptoms that comes with pregnancy.  Then, on Saturday, Derek and I were on the way out to South Point and I felt it again!  Hello BB.  I've been waiting to feel you!   Now that I know what to look for, I have discovered that we have an active little bitty.  Switching sides, fluttering, kicking.  He/She is all over the place.  This has been the most incredible experience.  It's a whole new level of connecting with the baby.  I am excited for Derek to be able to share this with me first hand in the weeks ahead.

I have been struggling through this week with an upper respiratory virus thats going around.  I went to the doctor, but, there's not a whole lot I can do.  I can't take much in the way of medicine these days, so rest and the Neti Pot have been key. At least we're getting this out of the way before Christmas.

This week, Baby  is about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long and weighs 3 1/2 ounces.

Countdown until we find out BB's sex: 7 days!  Any guesses?
