My daughter, my blessing

Something I ate for lunch today didn't agree with me and my stomach was really hurting before dinner tonight.  I told Derek that I needed to sit down for a minute, so he jumped on dinner and I hit the couch.  Not 2 minutes later, I feel a sweet little hand on my back...I turn and there is my Madeline...

"Mama, your tummy hurts?"

I explain to her that yes, my tummy hurt, but that I would be okay.

She proceeds to get an ice pack out of the freezer and places it on my tummy...brings me water...covers me with a blanket (and a few stuffed animals...AND her lovey) and tells me, "It's okay...it's okay...just rest...you'll feel better soon" as she pats me and cuddles up beside me on the couch.

To see this - her kindness, sensitivity and caring, nurturing nature - and feel her love as she cared for me...was a very proud moment for me as her mama.  My heart is full and I am utterly humbled that God chose me to be her mom.  She is a blessing.  I adore her.
