No teeth just yet, but we can see/feel a couple of "buds" just under the gums (2 bottom, 2 top, it appears). Poor guy will probably get them all at one time. The lack of teeth isn't stopping this tough guy from eating though. Benjamin loves to eat, which is evident by his delicious, chunky legs. He still gets 3 meals a day and we've moved on to meats. So far, he has tried chicken, ground beef and steak. He's a HUGE fan of all 3, though the steak was his favorite. We're practicing with puffs, too. Though he can pick them up easily, he isn't grasping that it's food. Once he figures it all out, I can see him going through a canister in no time.
Benjamin is trying really hard to figure out the crawling thing. When he's sitting up, he's trying to figure out how to get on his knees, or scooting around in a circle on his bottom. When he's on his back, he rolls to his tummy and raises up on his arms. Just yesterday, he scooted himself backwards across the floor. And so it begins....we're about to have two mobile children. Watch out, world!
His typical night time routine entering the 9th month is bath around 6:30 pm, in bed by 7:30, sleeping until about 6ish the following morning. He's still not much of a napper, but get two naps in a day (these range from 30 minutes - 1.5 hours). I'm grateful for the later bedtime because it means more Benjamin-Mama time after work during the week.
Benjamin is still working on "words." We hear a lot of "dada" and "ight" and the occasional "mama" "baba." He'll be giving his sweet sissy a run for her money in the talking department in no time!
At his 9 month check-up, he got a great report from Dr. Steele and is still measuring like a big man (Hunk-ules, as Papa calls him):
- 22 lbs., 3.5 oz. (74%)
- 29.25" long (79%)
- 19" head circumference (wait for it...99%)
On to month 9. I think we have a busy month ahead of us!
