I am coming to the end of my first week back at work. The first part of the week was emotionally
draining for this mama. Not only did I
leave “the nest” I shared with my little snuggle for 12 weeks, but both kids
went off to Benna’s, I hit the ground running at work and Derek and I tried to
figure out the new routine of getting two kids ready and out the door and to
work on time (we’re still figuring out the get to work on time thing). Luckily, as the week comes to a close, it
feels less scary for me since my little birds seem to be adjusting really well
to this new routine. Not to mention, I
get major hugs and coos from my babies when I get home at the end of the
day. Best part of every single day.
I thoroughly enjoyed every second of my leave with
Benjamin. Getting to know this precious
soul is such a privilege and I feel so blessed to be his mommy (and his awesome
big sister’s mommy, too!). Derek and I
have felt so much love from family and friends and we’re beyond grateful for all
the visits, calls, texts and meals. Both
of my kiddos have certainly entered the world to find open arms and lots of
love.
Finally, a little man update. My sweet little 12 week old baby slept for 8
hours last night. 8 HOURS. Thanks, buddy. A great start to the weekend.
