Easter & Benjamin's Baptism

He is not here: for he is risen!- Matthew 28:6

What a blessed Easter with our two babies!  Derek and I enjoyed a long weekend with the kids and our sweet family.

Uncle Kenneth and Aunt Kristen were here from Indiana so we kicked off the festivities with a get-together with the Beavers crew on Saturday.

Sunday morning brought lots of excitement with the discovery that the Easter Bunny had come for a visit.  He was really good to the kids this year - they must have been extra sweet!

And the excitement continued as we had Benjamin baptized at church on Easter Sunday.  We're beyond proud of our two babies and look forward to watching them grow in Christ.

One special side note - here are three generations of "Benjamins."  Love this picture - and these guys!

Cereal time!

We introduced Benjamin to rice cereal this week.  So far, so good.  What can I say?!  The boy loves to eat - especially when it's his big sister feeding him.

Benjamin at 4 months

Our precious Mr. B is 4 months old.  Seems like yesterday we were holding him in our arms for the first time.  Now he's working his little tummy muscles to sit up in his swing, chewing on his hands, checking out his feet, "talking" up a storm (he has discovered his voice and practices all the time!) and rolling from side to side.  He's in size 3 diapers and is already in size 6 (sometimes 6-9) month clothes.

Benjamin is eating 5 ounces every 2-3 hours and sleeps about 10-11 hours a night.  He typically goes down around 7/7:30 (and when he's ready to sleep, you better hurry to get that boy in his crib or prepare yourself for a serious melt down) and sleeps until 5:30-6:30 the next morning.  If he gets up at 5:30, a pacifier will soothe him back to sleep for another hour or so.  Such a good little sleeper!  We're still working on a consistent nap schedule, but that will come with time.

At his 4 month doctor's visit, he weighed in at 16 lbs. and measured 25" long.  He has had some pretty serious skin irritation on his little cheeks, so Dr. Steele gave us some antibiotic cream for it, and it's working it's magic!  Too, because Dr. Steele wasn't feeling much of a soft spot anymore, he recommended that we have Benjamin's head x-rayed to see what was going on just to play it safe (enter Lindsay's panic, even though the doctor said he wasn't all that worried about it).  Long story short, we had x-rays done this week and he is FINE!  His soft spot is still there, it's just tough to feel.

So, our little man is healthy and quite possibly the sweet baby on earth. What a happy 4 months it has been!

Benjamin's Sip and See

Vie hosted a lovely Sip and See for our sweet Mr. Beavers yesterday.  We enjoyed visiting with friends from Greensboro and Winston-Salem and Benjamin was the sweetest.  He cooed and interacted with everyone like a big man.  And, his sweet sister helped Vie play hostess!  Thanks VieVie for such a special day!
